On November 11th, Interlight Design Academy hosted the awards ceremony for the winners of the national Russian competition of lighting design and equipment "Russian Lighting Design", part of the International Exhibition of Decorative and Technical Lighting, Electrical Equipment and Building Automation, Interlight Moscow powered by Light + Building.
IntiLED once again reaffirmed the high quality of projects implemented by the company, having won the first place in the Best Indoor Lighting Project nomination. This year it was awarded for the functional and decorative lighting of Moscow's Helicon Opera music theater.
To the project's author, the head of the lighting design department Ulyana Vinogradova, this project turned out to be one of the most technically demanding and prolonged. "For five years we regularly faced restrictions regarding installation, the architects' request concerning the atmosphere and the image and the necessity to make illumination unobtrusive. All of this yielded vivid and elegant results", comments Ulyana.

The gem of the Stravinsky hall are helicons, both from the technical and design standpoint. Being part of a complex suspended ceiling system, not only do they reflect sound, i.e. perform the acoustic function, but also serve as original chandeliers due to powerful LED spotlights installed in the center. The spheres' design was developed specifically for the theater. As per the project author's idea, having entered the hall, the spectator would find themselves under the blanket of a starry night sky. This illusion is created by twenty-six 80-watt IntiSTARK neutral white light spotlights, embedded in the center of the helicons (two inside each sphere). The project also employed embeddable IntiGROUND-midi luminaires (amphitheater and imperia blox), IntiRAY and IntiSTARK floodlights and compact IntiSPOT fixtures (flank facade accents). All luminaires are controlled via the DMX protocol and integrated in the theater's unified control system.
IntiLED also would like to congratulate its partner, Harmony of Light, which performed the entire range of work pertaining to planning, supply and installation of all lighting fixtures.
