CSKA football club has been waiting for its sports arena for 10 years. Now the team has a stadium that meets all FIFA and UEFA standards. Football teams participating in the World Cup 2018 will taper here.
The harmony of sport and business is the key idea of the VEB Arena project in Moscow. The office building, hotel, sports and leisure sections and retail areas are integrated into the stadium building. The complex is fully in line with the current advanced design trends and modern vision of the sports facilities efficiency.
The idea of symbiosis is fully embodied in the 142-meter tower growing from the south-west corner of the stadium. In its form the tower resembles the UEFA Cup, which was won by PFC CSKA in 2005.
The architectural style of the stadium also defined the concept of lighting: two lighting zones forming a common design ensemble are created.
The dominant feature of the lighting concept was the designed colour-dynamic illumination of the tower crown with the use of 32 RGB floodlights of IntiSTARK series, equipped with optics for 80°.
The crown of the tower completely copies the shape of the cup, and was originally made of transparent glass, which was a serious obstacle for the light design. To implement the 13 light-dynamic scenarios of the crown, the transparent glasses were replaced with a special glass with a diffusing coating. The floodlights are controlled via DMX-512 protocol by IntiLight control program.
The second zone is the static illumination of the outer perimeter of the building with the CSKA corporate colours: red and blue. The perimeter of the stadium is repeated by the red-light line consisting of 560 dimmable IntiTUBE series luminaires with lengths of 40, 90 and 130 cm. The flooding and accenting lighting of the windproof structures with the second brand colour is scheduled on the second stage of the project.
The development of the concept, delivery and installation of equipment was performed by Spektor Lab.
