IntiLED became an official partner of the world’s first Light Festival beyond the Arctic Circle

During the three shortest days of 2019 International Festival of Light will be held in the city Polarnye Zori. Unusual and creative events have been always inspiring us, that is why IntiLED became a partner of the festival.
The very first festival of light in the history of the Arctic is another step of the ambitious project "Polarnye Zori - City of Light". In five years public opinion leaders and industry experts will modernize the street lighting of the city and create an educational platform for lighting designers and lighting-related events.
The first stage of the project - a camp in lighting design - ended in August. As a result, teams of lighting designers presented two concepts for the integrated lighting design of the city.
The second step is the International Festival of Light. The event will be the first in the Arctic and will bring together professionals and tourists to show how light changes life during the times of the polar night.
City residents will have a chance to rediscover familiar streets thanks to the new architectural lighting of buildings, implemented with IntiLED equipment. Dozens of light installations and art objects will bring a festive mood to the city. Guests of the event will find the work of the company's lighting designers in Central Park and on the waterfront. The facades of high-rise buildings and office buildings will be colored with projection lighting using slide mapping technology.
As part of the educational program of the festival, the first creative space of the “Boiling Point” format will be opened in the Murmansk region. Another important part of the program - International Congress in the field of lighting technologies and design. Well-known lighting designers and lighting specialists from Russia, Sweden, Italy and Finland will join the Congress. Experts will share with their experience in illuminating northern cities and explain how to start the path leading to harmonious urban lighting. Alexey Voronin, IntiLED Sales Manager, will discuss with the participants the most important features of luminaires for the northern latitudes.
“The hope that this festival will highlight the need to maintain a fragile ecological balance and the correct application of modern knowledge to build smart cities that improve the human standard of living in such difficult conditions as the Far North without violating the ecosystem that existed here long before the first human,” said the organizer festival, the founder of the school of lighting design LiDS Sergey Sizy.
