At the end of October in Tartu an international light and illumination arts festival Tartu Valgus / Tartu in Light was held.  Within 5 days of workshop, 3 teams of participants from Russia, Estonia, Japan, Belgium, Germany, England, Lithuania, Denmark and Sweden created illumination art-objects in urban surroundings. The project of illumination of Ministry of Science and Education of Estonia was made possible with a help of EDGE series lamps.

This year's educational program TAVA 2018 includes international master-classes of light design and 3D mapping and also, a two-day Lighting design and Illumination Art conference. During this conference, Uliana Vinogradova, head of IntiLED's light design department, presented a new series of compact narrow-beam LED lamps - the EDGE series. Participants of festival's master-classes could try out it's lighting functions themselves.

Also, IntiLED's light designers took part in development and implementation of one of the lighting projects – the illumination of Museum of Toys. The team had linear lights, spotlights, accent lighting and an additional toolkit for mounting and creation light effects. The participants started working on their projects with a discussion and creation of general conception. It was followed by the natural modeling. The final part of project included erection and connection of the installation.

“The curators did not obtrude their ideas, tried to take into account all opinions and combine ideas in such a way that it would result in a single concept. I liked the idea, that we didn't use light and colour without conceptual justification Implemented solutions were as interactive as possible, due to fact that the museum was created for children. The color illumination was made with a help of light filters, packaging and holed film, which was also an interesting experience.” - the impression on the project, shared by Pilipetzkaya Ksenia, IntiLED light designer.

The installations became the center of the The Axis of Light route. Guests and residents of Tartu were able to walk along the illumination route and personally examine all the art objects of the participants. By virtue of festival, the town became the capital of light.
