In the last week of October, the city of Tartu will host Tartu Valgus/Tartu in Light international architectural lighting and light art festival for the second time. In 2016, IntiLED participated in the event, and this time it is sponsoring the festival. IntiLED not only actively participates in the formation of a high-quality lighting market, but also supports non-commercial projects to develop a culture of high-quality lighting in Russia and abroad. The festival venue will become a place where lighting designers from all over the world will be able to exchange their unique experience.
The TAVA 2018 program consists of international master classes in lighting design and 3D mapping, installations of The Axis of Light and a fair of light. The educational part of the festival is represented by a two-day conference Lighting design and Light Art conference. The eventful program with an informative theoretical part will be extended with live informal communication in the format of networking. Within the framework of the conference, Uliana Vinogradova, head of the IntiLED lighting design department, will present a new line of accent EDGE luminaires designed to create a lighting effect of 3x180 degrees.
According to Elo Liiv, the festival organizer, "the goal of Tartu Light is to raise awareness about the role of lighting design in the day-to-day environment. It is required in order to create prototypes of potential lighting solutions in the city, to invigorate the public space and present to the public the opportunities that working with light provides".
Participants of the festival's workshops will be able to see firsthand the perfect EDGE light effect. For 7 days, master classes will be held during which world-famous lighting designers will share their author's approach to lighting design, tell the audience about the most effective lighting solutions. Under the guidance of experienced mentors, workshop participants will immediately be able to apply the information received and start experimenting. Using the IntiLED equipment, they will create light installations that will adorn the main sights of the city and will form the basis of The Axis of Light route. Guests and residents of Tartu will be able to walk along the light route and personally evaluate all the art objects of the participants. Thanks to the festival, the city will become the capital of light for a whole week.
