IntiLED, with the support of
Wieland Electric Rus, became a technical sponsor of the Luci in Riviera light festival that took place in early autumn in Italy.
The festival is a unique event aimed at using light to tell about cultural heritage of Riviera del Brenta, the waterway linking Padua and Venice.
In the XVI-XVIII centuries Riviera del Brenta entered its Golden Age becoming a privileged resort for rich Venetian nobles. Here one can see the most famous Venetian villas, beautiful architectural masterpieces of Palladio, frescoes of Giotto and Mantegna.
This year the festival organizers led by Roberto Corradini, a famous Italian lighting designer, chose the town of Dolo where history and art are intertwined in the charming atmosphere of the Venetian Riviera.
For a week the town hosted workshops and seminars where attendees were told about light as a tool of communication and the emotional side of lighting since the proper lighting design of urban space can make it a point of attraction for its residents.
This topic became the basis for creative experimentation.
Master classes provided an opportunity for young professionals to use their knowledge, which resulted in numerous lighting installations created under the guidance of experienced lighting designers. Art objects located near sightseeing attractions produced a new vision of historic buildings. Not only the famous villas became the target of the designers but also quite characterless streets transformed by light revealed the unknown story of the town to residents and guests of Dolo.
IntiLINE luminaires and IntiRAY spotlights were used in the project.
The festival was included in the Darc Awards shortlist and every year attracts more and more attention. In 2017 Luci in Riviera was visited by over 5,000 thousand spectators.
