Alpika Mountain Park in Sochi, renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and outdoor activities, has gained a striking new architectural centerpiece – a completely transformed pedestrian bridge spanning the Mzymta River, connecting the Alpika-Service and Gazprom resorts with Rosa Khutor embankment. While the structure initially featured basic monochromatic lighting by INTILED in 2013, the 2025 upgrade introduced a cutting-edge RGBW system capable of dynamic lighting scenarios for weekdays, weekends, and special occasions.
The project’s core objective was a complete revitalization of this vital transit hub: enhancing its architectural character, ensuring safety, and creating an inviting ambiance through adaptive lighting. INTILED’s specialists, in collaboration with Svetovye Tekhnologii (Lighting Technologies), developed a multi-faceted system where subtle weekday lighting transitions into vibrant holiday displays with smooth gradients and dynamic colour shifts, evoking the aurora borealis reflected in the Mzymta’s waters.
Technically, the design relies on IntiTUBE fixtures arranged in dual perimeter contours along the bridge and compact KUB models integrated into recessed niches. An intelligent LightCAD-based control system with DMX protocol enables precise lighting customization.
Today, the revitalized bridge stands as a seamless fusion of engineering and art, where advanced lighting not only creates a magical atmosphere but also improves roadway safety below. It’s a space where modern lighting technology harmonizes with the natural grandeur of the Caucasus Mountains, turning every crossing into an unforgettable experience.
