Bridge Crossing Over the Zeya River in Blagoveshchensk

  • concept development, equipment supply, construction, installation and commissioning works:
About the project
Blagoveshchensk stands out as the sole administrative hub in the Russian region situated on the national border. Positioned on the left bank of the Amur River and the right bank of the Zeya River, the city is closely linked to the Aihui district of the Chinese Heihe urban district, just 850 meters away on the right bank of the Amur.
Given the rising importance of constructing cross-border facilities, our recent project, a bridge over the Zeya River in Blagoveshchensk, holds significant infrastructural value. The development aims to boost trade with the People's Republic of China through enhanced transport infrastructure. This new bridge facilitates connectivity between settlements on the Zeya's banks, spanning a total length of 10.3 km, with 1.9 km dedicated to the bridge section. The extradosed part of the bridge spans 432 m, supported by 26 pillars. The bridge is integrated into the Amur federal highway network.
Lighting concept and tasks
In the concept development phase, the decision was made to utilize two color modes: white for illuminating the supports and cable-stayed section, and blue for lighting up the bridge span. The focus is on enhancing the outer surfaces of the supports and pylons, as they offer the best views from the shore.
Implementation
Linear LINE luminaires are used to illuminate the bridge span structures, ensuring uniform flood lighting across the entire span. The optical system configuration creates a continuous line of light, offering high visual comfort and accurate color reproduction.
The bridge supports are lit up with IntiSTARK spotlights, strategically placed on the end and inner sides to create subtle light accents and highlight the bridge's design features effectively. Pylons and cable stays are illuminated using IntiSTARK spotlights positioned at the base of the structures, emphasizing the outer sides of the pylons and providing even illumination for the cables.
All lighting fixtures are designed in the marine version. The project was completed within a tight timeframe of less than three months for the turnkey project, considering the extensive use of luminaires (2.5 thousand pieces) and the considerable distance of the site from Moscow and logistics centers.
