About the project
A segment of the new Pregolya River embankment near the Fish Village-2 residential compound on Oktyabrsky Island is located in the center of Kaliningrad, within the boundaries of the city’s Museum Quarter. This residential community continues the Fish Village tourist area built in the style of the old Koenigsberg architecture and full of restaurants, souvenir shops and hotels. Both the tourist and residential complexes form the new development front line along the embankment of the Pregolya River in the very center of the city.
The idea of creating a place of attraction for citizens and tourists by generating high traffic for the ground floor commercial strip with dozens of restaurants and art spaces turned out to be successful. Along the entire embankment, the active recreation and shaded areas are balanced in a harmonious combination. Seasonal programming of the venue along the river makes it possible to relax there not only in the hot summer, but also in winter.
Lighting concept and tasks
The main task was to create a comfortable light environment for the visitors, tourists and residents of the compound, to highlight the functional zoning of the territory, to emphasize the role of objects in the local panorama, including the river façade.
Project implementation
INTILED equipment is used in two key areas of the embankment: the white KUB fittings with 30° optics on the central viewing pergola and a continuous 20-meter LACE light line under the pier benches by the bridge. The pavilion lighting done with accent projectors is both functional and decorative: the pavilion serves as a point of attraction and an art object for the entire panorama, and this concept is actively supported by light. Lighting is carefully integrated into the overall balance of the area and emphasizes it.
