About the project
Makarovsky Bridge is the longest bridge in Yekaterinburg as well as the city’s most important transport artery connecting the right and the left banks of the Iset River. The history witnessed many names and looks of the bridge that have changed over the course of 137 years. From the wooden bridge, the first span of which was laid in the 19th century, it gradually shifted to its current shape, a bright and monumental architectural dominant of the downtown embankment that has become a special place in the light portrait of the city.
Lighting concept and goals
Makarovsky bridge is an independent architectural unit. The main objective of the project was to consolidate and emphasize its status of the architectural dominant.
Project implementation
The lighting of the bridge structure is carried out with the powerful IntiSTARK floodlights. The elegant contour effect is recreated by IntiLINE luminaires located on the side of the roadway.
In addition to the lighting tasks, INTILED also had to solve the technical and operational tasks: all lighting equipment for installation on bridge structures must meet stringent requirements for vibration and vandal resistance, including the requirements for an extended temperature range and high ambient humidity, stability to the aggressive environments.
These requirements were fully taken into account both for the internal INTILED components and all the attachment points, which were manufactured in the so-called "marine" modification, along with the bodies and all external metal parts, which were made of anti-corrosion materials and painted in the colour of the bridge structures with a special professional coating.
The eye-catching show for the Makarovsky bridge is created by a combination of technologies. MT Electro designers constructed an incredible number of unique lighting scenarios easily controlled thanks to the exceptional light quality of the INTILED luminaires and the advanced software built in each fitting allowing to operate the system instantaneously.
