About the project
The Center with a medical, diagnostic, research and educational mix of the endocrinological profile is quite unique in Russia and the CIS countries. In 2015, the building was in disrepair. After an extensive restoration, the Centre meets all the standards of modern medicine and has expanded with an additional building geared up with the latest medical equipment.
Lighting concept and goals
A uniform flood lighting was chosen for the classical style of the building’s architecture to preserve the perception of integrity of the structure in the evening and at night, with small accents placed throughout.
Project implementation
For this project, the designers opted for neutral lighting color that perfectly matches the aesthetics of the classical building. All lighting fixtures have a laconic design and compact size, so they are completely inconspicuous on the facade and do not distract from the architecture in the daytime. The lighting scheme can be divided into several levels:
The first level is inter-window spaces. They are uniformly illuminated by IntiSTARK spotlights with narrow optics. The narrow angle eliminated parasitic light in the windows and created the homogeneous light distribution with no visible hot spots.
The second level is the lighting of the risalit (vertically prominent façade), the most outstanding architectural part that comprises several elements: columns and porticos. They were evenly highlighted with RAY, IntiROLL and IntiLINE luminaires, paying special attention to preserving their volume.
Thus, the method of multi-level lighting, on the one hand, expressively emphasized all the architectural elements, and on the other hand, formed the overall monumentality of the building.
