About the building
Palazzo concert venue is an outstanding large-scale project of the Central Black Earth Region. In the classic interiors of the former “palace of culture” named after Comintern decorated with plasterwork and columns there opened an enterprise that stands out for its innovative approach to entertainment and club life.
IntiLED lighting equipment was used to implement the architectural illumination project that emphasized the character of the new resident.
Lighting concept and goals
The lighting designers faced a challenging task of creating a grotesque atmosphere of the concert hall. In the evening image it was important to preserve the grandeur and indestructibility of the building, the decor of the era of classicism, while taking into account the functional features of the premises and diluting the lighting design solutions with modern textures and lines.
The answer how to do it was the architecture itself: to use unconventional lighting techniques and rich colors for the classical style of the former “palace of culture”, to combine the incompatible.
Project implementation
A contre-jour effect was used to accent the shape and dimensions of the columns. This effect was created by installing RGB lighting fixtures of IntiSTARK series between the columns. On both sides of the colonnade there were installed IntiTWIN double-sided accent luminaires that create a lighting pattern that matches the rhythm of the columns.
IntiSTARK luminaires were also used for delicate floodlighting of the entrance structures and the patio.
The hardscape elements were illuminated with accent luminaires of the IntiROLL series.
All the equipment was integrated into a single lighting system and controlled using DMX-512 protocol. The luminaires can work in fixed and changing color modes to create unique dynamic color scenarios for every specific event.
