As part of a lighting modernization at the PetroCongress Business Center, a complex challenge was successfully addressed: replacing outdated fixtures with contemporary, energy-efficient solutions while fully preserving the historical architectural identity and prestigious concept of the venue. The primary goal of the project was to create expressive architectural lighting that highlights the building’s monumentality, geometry, and key volumetric features.
The core lighting concept focuses on accenting significant architectural elements: cornices, columns, pilasters, and the entrance group. This approach resulted in a dynamic and memorable nighttime silhouette, visually enhancing the structure’s height and reinforcing its prestigious image. The lighting design subtly brings out the texture of materials and adds depth through a masterful interplay of light and shadow.
To achieve this, a combination of advanced LED lighting equipment was employed. Narrow-beam IntiSTARK projectors with a 10-degree beam angle and varying output levels were used for precise accent lighting of vertical elements – columns and pilasters. This solution ensured accurate highlighting of narrow architectural details without stray light, emphasizing their vertical rhythm and creating a striking visual effect. For softly illuminating surfaces and first-floor walls, bidirectional TWIN fixtures with 15-degree optics were installed. By directing light both upward and downward, they produced subtle plays of light across the walls, adding volume and artistic depth to the façade.
Key achievements of the project include not only preserving but enhancing the historical aesthetic of the building through modern technology. The use of energy-efficient INTILED equipment significantly reduced energy consumption, while the thoughtful lighting design underscored the status and prestige of the PetroCongress Business Center, creating a harmonious and impressive after-dark identity.
