The architectural lighting of the facilities is executed in a unified style, yet individual technical solutions were selected for each. The lighting changes depending on calendar events, with everyday, holiday, and special modes for state holidays. Four lighting scenarios have been implemented at the facilities: "Everyday," "Aurora," "Russian Flag Day," and "Nornickel Corporate Colours." The outdoor lighting is controlled remotely.
The project's specifics were dictated by complex operating conditions: the structures are over 60 meters high, wind loads reach 35 m/s, and temperatures can drop below -55 °C. Because of this, luminaires and mounting hardware in an arctic design were used, capable of withstanding frosts down to -60 °C.
Every such project is unique from the perspective of construction and installation work and technical solutions. For example, at the main site of the Oktyabrsky Mine, a pilot project was implemented to create a "temperature gauge" light installation on one of the headframes. All luminaires used are fullcolour, and the management of scenarios, dynamics, and lighting colour is performed remotely via a mobile device.
Several types of luminaires were used at the facilities. The SLIM model is the primary one and was used on the façades of all 6 headframes to implement the basic lighting concept. The LINE model is installed on the "crowns" of KS1, KS2, and KS3, while the IntiTUBE was used to create the "temperature gauge" installation on KS-1. For controlling the entire lighting system, the INTILED IPCe32-24D control panel system is used.
