About the project
The Bashkir State Puppet Theatre holds a significant cultural role in Ufa city and the Republic of Bashkortostan. It serves as an enchanting space where children can delve into fairy tales and magic, experiencing wonders at every turn. For adult spectators, it offers a chance to reconnect with childhood joy. Following its reconstruction, the theatre has transformed into an even more captivating destination, where reality fades into fantasy. The theatre's appearance immediately leaves visitors with vibrant and unforgettable impressions.
Lighting concept and tasks
The project aimed to create a fairy-tale ambiance through unique lighting solutions. The primary goal was to bring to life a magical oasis within modern urban architecture and intensify the sense of being immersed in a fairy-tale realm featuring characters from Russian fairy tales and Bashkir folklore. Emphasizing architectural elements like entrance arches, fairy-tale character figurines, windows, stained glass, and internal staircases was crucial in seamlessly integrating the theater into the cityscape while maintaining its enchanting essence.
Implementation
To bring the concept of maximum immersion in the fantasy world of fairy tales to life, various types of lighting were utilized, including grazing floodlight, accent lighting, and backlighting. The design considered the mesh cladding of the façade to ensure a glare-free yet inviting environment. The majority of lighting fixtures are positioned on the theater façade, with some at ground level. The project incorporates LACE, EDGE, LINE, SLIM, IntiGROUND, RAY luminaires, and the LightCAD control system for creating intricate lighting setups. LightCAD facilitated the integration of the INTILED architectural lighting system and a third-party garden and park lighting system. All street luminaires are centrally managed from a single control panel.
The project was executed through a close collaboration between INTILED and STC IN LIGHTING. Both companies worked together on the lighting design concept, arrangement of light fittings, creation of working drawings and visualizations, as well as the installation of equipment.
