About the project
The end of 2019 has seen a significant event in the life of Omsk — Hermitage-Siberia Center, the third representative branch of the State Hermitage Museum in Russia, has opened its doors to the public.
The Hermitage-Siberia Center, hosting exhibitions from Saint Petersburg, has already become a place of attraction for residents of Omsk and the Siberian Federal district: it provides an unmatched opportunity to experience the unique heritage of global culture without leaving the region.
Lighting ideas and tasks
The lighting solution was intended to emphasize the close connection of the representative branch with the largest Museum in the world and the honor of bearing the associate Museum status, while creating an inviting and warm atmosphere for its visitors.
Remarkable combination of lighting colors — classic white and vibrant purple has become the concept’s signature, revealing its entire depth on the clean gray facade of the building.
Project implementation
Designers succeeded in presenting new look to the building by enhancing its architectural accents, while maintaining the overall style solidity.
To accentuate the arches of the building, IntiSTARK series spotlights are positioned in pairs at the second-floor level, directed upwards and downwards. The top-down light beams from 30-degree-tilted spotlights provide even illumination for the entire surface of the pilasters between the arches delivering further proportion. The upward-set luminaires are equipped with 10x50° asymmetric optics for creating the beam divergence effect. The same series of fine optics spotlights is applied to highlight the interfenestral areas of the third floor.
Banisters and bas-reliefs below the Center’s windows are delicately emphasized by 130 cm linear RGB IntiLINE series lighting fixtures.
Perfectly even cornice flood lighting is achieved by using 45x18°oval optics neutral white dimmable luminaires of IntiSLIM series.
