Last week in Chicago Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat — CTBUH announced winners in over 20 categories for Best Tall Building, Urban Habitat, Innovation, Construction, and Engineering. The CTBUH Awards is an independent review of projects and individuals that have made extraordinary contributions to the advancement of tall buildings and the urban environment, judged by a prestigious panel of experts.
The Lakhta Centr in St. Petersburg, Russia, one of the key projects in our portfolio, has been awarded with the Façade Engineering Award 2021.
The construction of the Lakhta Centr façade was developed with the latest innovative technology in hand. Its double-skin façade provides a thermal buffer zone, solar preheating, energy saving, sound protection, wind and pollutants protection and space for energy collection devices. A de-icing control shields the façade in the severe winter conditions at extreme heights – with its 462 meters, the Lakhta Centr is the tallest building in Europe and the northernmost skyscraper in the world.
The building has also received the Best Tall Building 400 meters and above 2021 Award of Excellence, Best Tall Building Europe 2021 Award of Excellence and Construction Award 2021 Award of Excellence.
