The Savior Transfiguration Cathedral, Vladivistok

lighting concept, implementation:Lighting company "Svetly Gorod"
About the project
The Savior Transfiguration Cathedral is located on the central square of Vladivostok. This is the largest church in the region: it accommodates about 2000 believers; the height of the temple is 67 meters, the total area is 846 square meters.
Lighting concept and tasks
When it came to illuminating The Savior Transfiguration Cathedral, the lighting designers relied on three factors. Firstly, the cathedral has become a new high-rise dominant in the compact city center. Secondly, it is a cultural symbol and the largest religious building in the region. Lastly, it faces a government building lit in a colour temperature of 5000K. Fortunately the warm brick façade of the cathedral elegantly blended into the nocturnal cityscape, creating a harmonious contrast.
Implementation
Unable to install lighting fixtures on the building itself, the team opted for remote lighting, using IntiSTARK luminaires with precise 60 to 10 degrees optics mounted on sleek black supports placed strategically around the cathedral. These inconspicuous supports skillfully concealed the technical details, ensuring The Savior Transfiguration Cathedral remained in the limelight
