The solemn opening of the administrative and dispatching Gazprom Transgaz Samara building took place in 2012. The 24-storey building with a height of 103 meters immediately became one of the city's high-rise dominants.
The building is situated in the geographical center of Samara. There is an observation deck with a view of the Zhiguli Mountains on the roof. There is a museum of the enterprise where visitors can learn how natural gas is transported and which way it passes from the field to the consumers, and also what compressor stations look like and why one of the most valuable raw materials needs underground storage facilities.
In October 2017, in addition to the existing monochrome lighting, a system of LED lighting by IntiLED was installed on the facade of the building. The peculiarity of the lighting concept was to harmoniously incorporate a new dynamic solution with the creation of color scenarios in the monochrome lighting.
Powerful RGBW floodlights of the IntiSTARK big-block series with narrow 10° optics were chosen to implement the project. Light fixtures are located on the balcony of the 6th floor and are installed on concrete blocks allowing to change the position. At the same time IntiSTARK big-block floodlights are firmly fixed on the plates, ensuring the reliability of the construction. The powerful 16,150 lm luminous flux of one unit allowed to use only 8 floodlights for floodlighting of the whole facade of the building.
A lot of options for positioning the LED blocks relative to each other provided complete freedom in the development of light layouts: the flag of Russia with the effect of waving in the wind; burning of gas (the effect of blue flame); the ribbon of Saint George; rainbow effect. In addition, static solutions and fixing of any color are possible. Independent management of LED clusters is carried out using the DMX-512 protocol.
