The Jacquot–Dashkov House is located within one of the courtyards of Saint Petersburg’s historic center and accommodates the offices of NII PG. This context defined the approach to the façade lighting concept as well as the selection of locations for the lighting equipment.
Light subtly emphasizes the architectural articulation of the façade—pilasters, cornices, and decorative elements. The color temperature and light tone were selected in consideration of the façade materials, enhancing their texture while preserving architectural authenticity. The developed lighting scenarios allow the building’s visual perception to change depending on the time of day and the format of events, making the object noticeable while remaining a harmonious element of the courtyard environment.
To achieve all lighting objectives in the most aesthetically refined manner, surface-mounted installation of compact luminaires on the façade was chosen, along with in-ground recessed fixtures to create uniform wall-washing across the façade plane.
