A residential building on 36 Kazanskaya Street is a part of Saint Petersburg heritage protection area because it’s steeped in history.
In 1799, it started as a stone house of Ilya Tomilov, a noncommissioned police officer. From 1823 to 1849, the house belonged to A. V. Votskiy, a clerk, and had three storeys. In 1854, Vasily Yegorovich Morgan, an architect, added a fourth storey at the request of N. S. Dolbezhev, a wine merchant. A beginning of the 20th century saw to the building of a fifth storey and a mansard roof. During structural repairs in 1988, one of the bearing walls fell down. The old building was demolished, and a new one was built in its place.
Currently, the building is mostly occupied by LSR corporate group headquarters.
In September 2017, IntiLED Company installed a facade lighting system. The cold white light provides a contrast to yellow street sodium lamps.
Top-down lighting accentuates the first two storeys. Compact and lightweight IntiSLIM dimmable LEDs with oval optics were used for this purpose.
Window piers on the third storey are accentuated by IntiROLL spot beam lights. A 30° narrow-angle lenses prevent the dazzling effect of stray lighting.
26 IntiTUBE light strips emphasize the geometry of the ledge and the three gables. Two IntiTWIN luminaries accentuate the balcony.
Luminpro brackets were used to install the lighting. They allow to adjust the overhang and align the lighting.
