Student Games 2019 has become the first Winter Universiade in Russia. They were held in Krasnoyarsk from 2 to 12 March. One of the key facilities of the World Winter Universiade 2019 was the Platinum Arena Krasnoyarsk. This was the place where the opening and closing ceremonies of the Winter Games took place, as well as figure skating competitions.
After the Student Games, the arena will become the home ground for the teams of the Sokol Hockey Club, as well as an additional training base for sports school students in ice sports and ice hockey. The multifunctionality of the complex allowed conducting not only training sessions of national teams of the country and the region but also major cultural events: in a few hours the ice arena transforms into a concert hall or exhibition area.
"The Platinum Arena has become the legacy of the Universiade and a symbol of uniting the efforts of the authorities, business, city, and region, which Krasnoyarsk will be proud of," notes Oleg Matytsin, the President of the Russian Student Sports Union.
The lighting project of the sports and entertainment complex has been implemented using the equipment manufactures by the IntiLED Company. The perimeter of the stadium is highlighted using functional outline lighting. Miniluminaires of the IntiSLIM series with lengths of 60 and 90 cm were used for such a technique. They are invisible on the facade due to their compact size. Moreover, the through connection of luminaires allowed minimizing the number of wires and junction boxes. A neutral white light, which is combined with the color of the facade cladding and creates a memorable evening look of the sports complex, was chosen for all the equipment. All luminaires are dimmable, i.e. they allow smooth adjusting the brightness of the glow.
