The recreational complex “Qalaaltı Hotel & SPA,” located on the territory of the famous Soviet health resort "Qalaaltı," opened its doors for tourists from all over the world in August. The new complex meets international standards and “is of great importance in terms of improvement of the tourist potential of the region,” said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. Taking into account the importance of the facility, IntiLED together with its partner, the “Lighting Solutions” Company, proposed an original lighting project, which allowed emphasizing the sophisticated architecture of the complex and creating an impressive visual effect. The solution is based on more than two hundred compact spotlights of the IntiSPOT series of warm white light with adjustable brightness. Being installed on the facade of the main building of the complex, they focus on window openings in a static mode, creating a sense of depth and a kind of play of light and shadow. In addition to the static mode of operation, the luminaires may be controlled by the DMX-512 protocol. The proposed software allows creating a variety of light-dynamic patterns on the facade, which additionally attract the attention of tourists.
A series of customized IntiLINE versions with non-standard secondary optics (22°, 46°, 12x48°, and 14x46°) were manufactured to illuminate the three-tiered villas located on the territory of the complex. The equipment is mounted in the window spaces and on the facade; control is carried out by means of PC. IntiGROUND RGB spotlights of warm white light were used to create additional floodlighting from the ground. The lighting concept and equipment supply were carried out by the Lighting Solutions Company; Renaissance Construction performed installation and commissioning. The “Qalaaltı Hotel & SPA” sanatorium is a new medical and recreational resort complex, unique in the architectural style and format of recreation, which is located in the Shabran settlement 120 kilometers from Baku. Its specific feature is the thermal springs, unique in their properties, which have a beneficial effect on the excretory and digestive systems of the body. The complex includes a five-star hotel, a SPA center, and entertainment areas for the maximum comfort of visitors.
